Safety Tips
Though Kendrick Paint and Body Shops do not recommend cell phone usage while driving, we know people will continue to use their cell phones. However, keep in mind that Georgia has passed a bill banning the use of cell phones for teens under 18 years of age while driving. The ban includes all cell phone usage (texting, voice calls, email, etc). The text of the bill may be found here. In addition, Georgia has a proposed bill banning all texting while driving, and the ban may take effect as early as July 1, 2010. Please click here for more information.
If you must use your cell phone (and it is still legal), please abide by the following safety measures:
- Familiarize yourself with your cell phone and learn important features such as speed dial and redial.
- Place the cell phone within easy reach to help avoid taking your eyes off the road.
- Do not talk or text during dangerous driving conditions. (rain, heavy traffic, etc)
- Do not attempt to write anything (notes, phone numbers, addresses, etc) while driving.
- Avoid heated or emotional conversations which distract and draw your attention and focus to them and not the road.
- Try to place calls or text only in stopped positions.
- Try to use a bluetooth device as much as possible.
At Kendrick Paint and Body, we know you may need to use your cell phone while driving. We hope you will refrain from using your cell phone while in motion, but we ask you to follow simple safety guidelines if you must use your cell phone while driving.
